Have a say on revised Draft CHAP by November 1

Back

Residents who’ve yet to have a say on the revised draft Coastal Hazards Adaptation Plan have until November 1 to visit Your Say Noosa and provide feedback.

The revised draft includes significant changes in response to community feedback on the previous version.

Changes include:

  • A greater focus on what action Council will take in relation to dune management and revegetation in high-risk areas.
  • More monitoring and data collection to inform future adaptation responses with key stakeholders.

The revised draft also aims to allay any confusion that the CHAP stands to impact private use rights, which only the planning scheme can do.

Council reviewed and carefully considered all the feedback received from the previous consultation process in order to make the latest changes.

Six roundtable meetings with stakeholders also helped clarify concerns and identify solutions.

Visit Your Say Noosa by Monday November 1 to review the revised draft CHAP and provide comment.
