Waste and Resource Recovery Centres

Noosa Council offers one waste management and resource recovery facility with an additional two waste transfer stations for the community of the Noosa Shire.

Visitors must wear closed in footwear at all locations. People wearing sandals or thongs will be refused entry.

Drop off usable, good condition items to the Reviva Shop before entering the weighbridge. Waste and recyclables accepted.


Located opposite the Reviva Shop, recycle eligible 10c containers using the Containers for Change Reverse Vending Machine.

Free Disposal Items

  • A number of items can be dropped off at all three of Council's waste facilities at no charge. These include:
  • E-waste. Any item with a plug or battery e.g. TVs, electrical appliances, computers, laptops, tablets, printers, computer equipment and parts, cords, cables, CDs, DVDs
  • Paint
  • White goods (certified degassed fridges, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers).
  • Motor Oil
  • Batteries (domestic)
  • Lead-acid batteries (eg car batteries)
  • Scrap metals
  • Comingled recycling
  • Cardboard/paper
  • Chemicals (domestic)
  • Polystyrene (domestic)
  • Gas bottles (empty)

Fees apply to general waste disposal which includes, but not limited to:

  • General Waste
  • Mattresses
  • Garden Waste
  • Timber (Noosa Resource Recovery Centre only)
  • Concrete (Noosa Resource Recovery Centre only)

  • Fluoro tubes

NB: The Pomona and Cooroy Transfer Stations do not accept any building material.  Building material needs to be disposed of at Noosa Resource Recovery Centre.

Asbestos and Contaminated Soil

Asbestos can be disposed of at the Noosa Resource Recovery Centre only, please fill in the Asbestos Disposal form on the online applications page and submit 2 business days prior to disposal. Please read the Approval Conditions for Disposal of Asbestos prior to completing the online application. 

Contaminated soils can also be disposed at Noosa Landfill only, please fill in the Disposal of Contaminated Soil form

Resources available for purchase

Help drive the circular economy and keep precious resources out of landfill. The following resources are available at the Noosa Resource Recovery Centre:

  • Crushed concrete for $20 per cubic metre
  • Single grind mulch for free
  • Double grind mulch for $20 per cubic metre.

The table below provides information about the availability of crushed concrete at the Noosa Resource Recovery Centre.  All reasonable effort is taken to ensure its accuracy. However, from time to time product availability may change at short notice due to large volume sales.
