Lake Macdonald Dam Upgrade

Seqwater is upgrading Noosa's Lake Macdonald Dam (Six Mile Creek) as part of its Improvement Project.

The project will include constructing a temporary upstream cofferdam, a new spillway and reconstructing the existing earth embankments.

This is an Seqwater project in partnership with John Holland as the major construction contractor.

Early site establishment began in November 2024. Main construction activities are scheduled to commence in late May 2025.

The project is anticipated to take around five years to complete, depending on weather and site conditions.

While the project is underway there may be increased cases of feral deer interactions on Cooroy Noosa Rd, with the water height of the lake being reduced. Please take care when driving in this area.
