Flood Mapping
Flooding from storm tides and waterways poses one of the most significant risks to communities across Noosa Shire.
The Flood Overlay mapping in Noosa Plan 2020 identifies areas potentially affected by flooding during a modelled event with a 1% Annual Exceedance Probability (AEP) for the year 2100. This means there is a 1 in 100 chance of such a flood occurring in any given year. (For more information, refer to the Bureau of Meteorology.)
These maps are based on Council’s flood modelling and are indicative only. They do not capture all possible flood scenarios, and larger, less frequent events may inundate areas beyond those shown. As such, the maps are intended for development assessment purposes and should not be relied upon for real estate or property investment decisions.

Flood Certificates
Council offers Flood Search Certificates that provide (where available):
- The latest flood level information for a specific property
- The minimum finished floor level required for new habitable rooms
- Flood velocity data.
For more details or to request a certificate, visit Council’s Property Searches page.
