Cemetery Deceased Search
Welcome to the Noosa Shire Council cemeteries online deceased search. This search tool was developed to assist users wanting to search for loved ones or conduct family history searches of persons who have been interred within one of the cemeteries located at Tewantin, Cooroy or Pomona.
Search tips
To help with your search:
- Quick Search, try:
- Different spellings for names. e.g. Petersen instead of Peterson
- A surname only (without first and middle names)
- First name without middle name or middle name without first name
- Less information can be better
- Advanced search, try:
- Filling in as many details as you know
- Less information can be better
When you find a record
- Click on the Surname of the person you are searching for.
This will display- All details available for the person
- A plaque photo (if available)
- The plot and location details – click on ‘Show Map” to see the location within the cemetery
If you’re unable to find a record or the information is missing
All care has been taken to ensure that the information is accurate. If you believe the available information is incorrect or is not found, please contact Council to discuss. If you would like to make changes to the information, you will need to be directly related to the deceased or an authorised person. Please complete the Request to update record form and include any evidence to support your information or changes. Any changes you advise will be considered and reviewed. Use of any additional information will be at the discretion of Noosa Shire Council Cemeteries and updated accordingly.

Burial details can also be found on death certificates. You can order a birth, marriage or death certificate from the Queensland Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
