Location: Pioneer Park

Project: Exciting improvements are coming to Pioneer Park on King Street, Cooran, with playground renewal works set to begin soon. 

Duration: Construction is scheduled to commence on Monday, 15 June, with completion expected in September, weather and site conditions permitting. 

Works will take place during daytime hours between 6:30am and 6:30pm.

During this time, the entire playground area will be temporarily closed to ensure community safety.

Project: Nandroya Road sustained damage during the weather event in early 2025, with changed traffic conditions in place since that time.

Reconstruction works will start in the coming months to repair the extensive damage.

Location: Cooroy Sports Complex Expansion

Project: Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-September 2026 on the expansion and upgrade of the Cooroy Gymnastics Complex, delivering a modern, all-weather, multi-purpose indoor training space for gymnastics and other sporting activities. 

Construction is scheduled to commence in mid-September 2026, with completion anticipated in late April 2027, subject to weather and construction conditions.

Location: Cooroy Mountain Road

Project: The culvert near Tunba Court on Cooroy Mountain Road was damaged during the weather event in early 2025.

Location: Dog Beach - Dredging Works

Contractors will soon commence maintenance dredging works on Noosa Dog Beach. These works aim to support ongoing foreshore stability.

Work is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, 2 September 2026 for up to 4 weeks, subject to weather, contractor availability, site conditions and state approval.

Every effort will be made to minimise the impact to the public and beach foreshore, however a partial periodic closure of the area will be necessary to complete the works.

Location: Lanyana Way - Pathway Replacement Works

Contractors are conducting concrete pathway renewal works on the pedestrian pathway along Noosa Fair Shopping Centre side of Lanyana Way, Noosa Heads. 

Updated 13/08/2026: Pathway renewal, kerb replacement and timber garden bed edging works have been completed with landscaping still to be finalised. 

The work will be undertaken during the day between the hours of 6.30am and 6.30pm.

Location: Quota Park, Gympie Terrace, Noosaville

Project: Noosa Council will begin construction of a new accessible and Changing Places accredited amenities facility at Quota Park, Gympie Terrace, Noosaville in late June. The project responds to strong community feedback from the Noosaville Foreshore Infrastructure Master Plan, which identified the need for additional amenities and improved spacing between facilities along the foreshore. Quota Park was selected as the preferred location due to its accessibility, visibility and minimal impact on open space.

Duration: Construction is anticipated to commence late June 2026, with work expected to finish by November 2026, subject to weather and construction conditions.

Location: Ferguson Street - Vegetation Management 

Contractors will soon commence vegetation management works within the reserve between the Ferguson Street and Douglas Street properties. Works will include the removal of dead trees, trees with significant structural defects, trees growing into or in contact with buildings or other structures, and undesirable non-native species, including Golden Cane Palms and Mock Orange.

Work is scheduled to commence on Monday, 21 September 2026 with completion expected by Thursday, 24 September 2026, subject to weather, contractor availability and site conditions. The work will be undertaken between the hours of 7am and 5pm.

Location: Noosa Aquatic Centre - Pool Closure for Filtration Upgrades

Project: The 50m Pool requires a filtration refurbishment, and the Program Pool requires a new filtration system which both have reached end of life. This work is necessary to ensure our pools operate safely, efficiently and provide the best possible water quality into the future.  

The 25m pool will remain open whilst works are in progress. 

Duration: Work is scheduled to commence on 8 June 2026 with completion expected by 31 August, subject to weather and site conditions. This 3-month work scope will require a number of parking spaces (4-6) leading to the NAC loading dock to be fenced off. Every effort has been made to minimise the impact. All aquatic programs will continue, with temporary relocation to the 25m Pool.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the first stage of community consultation for the Hilton Esplanade Improvement Project.

Location: Doonella Lake Bridge

Project: We're upgrading Doonell Lake Bridge for a safer, stronger connection. Originally constructed in 1968, the bridge plays a critical role in our local transport network, connecting Tewantin and Noosaville and carrying an average of over 20,000 vehicles daily, along with many pedestrians and cyclists.These essential works will improve the bridge’s safety, durability, and accessibility for all road users.

Duration: Set to commence in July 2026, with work expected to finish by early December 2026, subject to weather and construction conditions.

Location: William Steet Pathway Upgrade, Tewantin

Project: Noosa Council is upgrading the pedestrian pathway network along William Street, Tewantin, to improve connectivity within the local active transport network.

Works include the construction of approximately 120 metres of new concrete pathway and the renewal of 60 metres of existing pathway along William Street. These upgrades will improve accessibility and provide safer, more connected links for residents and visitors.

The project forms part of Council’s ongoing commitment to improving active transport infrastructure and enhancing community safety.

Duration: Construction is scheduled to commence on Monday 22 June 2026 and is expected to be completed by late July 2026, weather permitting. Works will occur Monday to Friday between 6:30am and 5:00pm, with no weekend works planned.
