Lake Macdonald Dr Works
Remediation & Civil Works 62 & 64 Lake Macdonald Drive, Cooroy
Council contractors are carrying out remediation, and civil works for the subdivision located at 62 & 64 Lake Macdonald Drive, Cooroy to support future uses, including community housing.
Scope of Works:
The site, formerly used as a private landfill requires controlled remediation.
Extensive testing has been conducted by a qualified Environmental Consultant, who will oversee the process under strict regulation and approval by an independent Contaminated Land Auditor.
As part of the works, contractors will remove plantation pines and some native trees, while making every effort to retain native vegetation and preserve topsoil to reduce costs and minimise impacts on local habitats. All tree removal will be monitored by wildlife spotters to protect fauna, and erosion controls will be in place to prevent soil loss and water runoff.
Once the works are complete, native trees and shrubs will be replanted as appropriate to enhance privacy and support the site's ecological value.
For safety, residents are prohibited from entering the site during remediation.
