Right to Information and Privacy

 

The Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) (RTI Act) gives individuals the right to access and amend information, including personal information, held by Noosa Council (Council) unless there is a good reason for it not to be provided. Everyone has a right to access personal and non-personal information held by public sector agencies, including Council, under the RTI Act.

The Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (IP Act) contains a set of rules or ‘privacy principles’ that governs how Council handles personal information.
