The Noosa Bushcare program is a partnership arrangement between Council and community volunteers who find reward in contributing to positive change in their local bushland areas.

The aim of the Program is to actively involve the community in the restoration of degraded bushland areas to reduce the impact of weeds. It is also a great way to meet new friends while caring for Noosa's environment.

Being a bushland carer is satisfying work, and it makes a real difference to the quality of bushland habitat in local areas. The Program offers volunteers:

  • a great outdoor working environment
  • occasions to meet like-minded people
  • training and support
  • time to connect with nature

Currently, 19 Bushcare groups are registered in the Program. These groups hold regular working bees throughout the year at various locations around the Shire. Please see details of upcoming working bees below:

Noosa Bushcare volunteers:

  • assist in the recovery of threatened species
  • enhance wildlife corridors
  • attend workshops and learn new skills

How can I get involved?

You can join an existing group or start a new group in your area. To discuss your interests, simply phone Council’s Bushland Care Officers on (07) 5329 6500 or via email.

Alternatively, simply fill out one of the forms below and email or post to Noosa Council PO Box 141, Tewantin QLD 4565.
