Free, safe and confidential support for young people aged 12 to 25
Going through a tough time? You don’t have to figure it out on your own.
The Lives Lived Well team is here to help young people dealing with alcohol or drug use, whether it’s something you’re worried about, something a friend or family member is going through, or something you just want to talk about
It’s free, private and you’re in control of what you share
Everyone’s journey is different. Peer support can provide a relaxed and relatable way for young people to begin a conversation and explore what they might want to change.
Meet the team
Jake – Youth Peer Support Worker
Jake is often the first point of connection for young people. He brings lived experience, authenticity and hope, helping young people engage with support on their own terms.
Whether it’s a quick chat, grabbing a hot Chocolate, or working out what kind of support might be helpful, Jake understands that everyone’s journey is different. Peer support can provide a relaxed and relatable way for young people to begin a conversation and explore what they might want to change.
Travis – Youth Counsellor
Travis provides the clinical backbone of the program, offering evidence-informed alcohol and other drug counselling while working collaboratively with young people, families, schools, health services and community organisations.
His approach is practical, compassionate and focused on meeting young people where they are and helping them move towards the life they want.
Support that fits the young person
We know there is no one-size-fits-all approach to alcohol and other drug support. Young people may want to cut down, reduce harm, stop using, understand what’s happening, or simply have someone safe to talk to.
Through Lives Lived Well, we can provide or connect young people and families with a range of services across Queensland, including:
• Youth alcohol and other drug counselling for people aged 12–25
• Peer support and lived experience programs
• Support for parents, carers and families
• Mental health and wellbeing services
• Breakthrough for Families – support, education and counselling for families affected by alcohol and other drugs
• Day programs and withdrawal support
• Residential rehabilitation when more intensive support is needed
• Family residential rehabilitation, allowing parents to stay with their children while receiving treatment
• Connections with housing, health, education and other community supports
Our local support is FREE, confidential, youth-friendly, flexible and focused on the young person’s goals.
Referrals are easy
Young people can self-refer, and stakeholders supports, family members or friends can also help connect someone with us. No GP referral is required.
Referrals can also be made through the Lives Lived Well Website
