TERM PROGRAM
Week 1 and 2 making Japanese kinusaiga
We’ll explore the beautiful Japanese art of Kinusaiga, creating colourful textile artworks without the need for sewing. Using fabric, pattern and careful placement, we’ll build up our own unique designs, discovering how different colours, textures and shapes can come together to create something truly beautiful.
Weeks 3 and 4 acrylic and canvas Landscapes
It’s time to explore the landscape through paint! Using acrylics and canvas, we’ll experiment with colour, layering, texture and expressive brushwork to create our own landscapes. Whether inspired by somewhere real or completely imagined, each artwork will be a personal interpretation of the world around us.
Week 5, 6 PERSONALISED LAMPS
The lamps will be constructed from foam blocks, popsicle sticks, aluminium foil and masking tape, to help them take shape, then they will be covered in plaster of Paris, creating a strong outer layer to be painted and decorated.
This project may take us a week or so more, but it will be worth it ;-)
Week 7 Changing the greats
What would happen if we took a famous artwork and made it our own? In Changing the Greats, we’ll look at well-known artworks and then play with them — changing colours, characters, settings, styles or ideas to create something completely new. A fun opportunity to be inspired by the masters while finding our own creative voice.
Week 8 time for Christmas,
Let's create some beautiful Christmas decorations. It’s time to finish the year with some Christmas creativity! We’ll make beautiful decorations to celebrate the season, experimenting with colour, texture and different materials. A relaxed and joyful session to create something special to take home and enjoy each Christmas.
