Noosa Council will hold its next Ordinary Meeting at Kin Kin on 21 August, offering an opportunity for residents to meet and chat with their local councillors.

Noosa Mayor Frank Wilkie said councillors and key staff were looking forward to talking with hinterland residents about current Council projects and local issues.

“This is part of our commitment to take our meetings out into the community, so residents can meet with us prior to the meeting to talk about any issues they may be concerned about or would otherwise just like to raise with Council,” he said.

“We’ll have key staff on hand to talk about projects such as the Destination Management Plan, which we’re developing with community input at the moment, and the recent Pomona Place Plan, and how the placemaking program may be applied to other towns in the shire.”

Council staff will also be available to chat to residents about bushfire and storm preparedness ahead of summer.

The Ordinary Meeting and meet-and-greet with councillors and staff will be held at Kin Kin Memorial School of Arts Hall, Main Street, Kin Kin, on Thursday, 21 August.

The meet-and-greet will be held from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, ahead of the Ordinary Meeting, which will start at 5pm and is open to the public.
