Learn how to make fabulous compost

DiggingInCompost

Learn the secrets to creating nutrient-rich compost with Dr. Adam O'Toole, a soil scientist with 15 years of academic expertise in soils, composting, biochar, and vermiculture. Adam has been composting for most of his life, using a variety of methods—including hot composting, worm composting, bokashi, and direct-to-soil techniques. He is also an active member of Permaculture Noosa and a volunteer at the Cooroy Community Gardens.

In this workshop, you'll discover:
✅ The fundamentals of composting and the science behind it—explained in a simple, easy-to-understand way.
✅ How to turn your fruit and veggie scraps into high-quality compost to enrich your garden and improve soil health.
✅ The fascinating creatures that live in compost and how they contribute to the process (perfect for those who love—or want to get comfortable with—things that creep and crawl!).
✅ Advanced tips for experienced composters, including how biochar and small twigs can enhance aeration and efficiency in passive compost piles.

This interactive, hands-on session will have you making compost alongside Adam and digging into worm beds to see real systems in action!
