Pomona Place Plan
We are excited to announce the release of the Pomona Place Plan! This plan reflects the collective vision and aspirations of the Pomona community, developed through extensive engagement with over 500 community members. Together, we have shaped a roadmap to ensure Pomona remains a unique, vibrant, and liveable town for years to come.
The Pomona Place Plan is the result of a collaborative effort between the Noosa Council and the Pomona community. The pilot project was launched to explore a new approach to planning and placemaking, focusing on engaging residents and understanding their priorities.
The Pomona Place Plan outlines actions to be undertaken over the next 10 years by Noosa Council, the Pomona community, and other stakeholders. The plan will help preserve the town’s character while enhancing its liveability and community connections.
This is your Place Plan, Pomona! We are here to support you drive your plan forward.
If you're interested in getting involved, we'd love to hear from you! A few members of the community have indicated that they would like to drive forward some of these actions as a priority as they are important to them and Pomona. Please email us, and we'll connect you with the right organisation or person in your community to get started.

FAQs
Why wasn’t my project idea included in the survey?
We received many great ideas from the community and tried to include as many as possible in the survey. We included actions that received significant support during the first round of consultation. Some ideas were out of the scope for the plan and were retained for input into other plans and strategies where they were more relevant. Other ideas were beyond the Council’s direct influence and relied on external stakeholders. In these cases, the council and community can continue advocating for changes.
What will happen to the projects/ideas that didn’t get picked as priority ideas?
All ideas and actions have been included in an appendix for future review. The Pomona Place Plan will be reviewed every five years, and these ideas can be reassessed during the review process to potentially be reintroduced into the plan.
How will the actions be funded?
The Pomona Place Plan was designed as a long-term partnership between the community and the Council. It will be implemented over the next 10-20 years, with actions delivered based on funding from various sources. The timing and resourcing of priority actions were included in the final plan.
