Protecting supplier payments with Eftsure

From January 2026 Noosa Council will partner with Eftsure, Australia’s leading payment security platform, to protect supplier payments and mitigate against fraud. Trusted by councils and businesses nationwide. Eftsure is an independent, real-time monitoring system designed to validate the integrity of online transactions and supplier data. It ensures that when payments are processed, funds go exactly where they are intended.

What this means for Noosa Council Suppliers

Before Noosa Council can process payments, all new suppliers must complete a quick verification through Eftsure. This ensures we have accurate company and banking details, and your payments are secure.

Getting Started as a Supplier

As part of the onboarding process, your Noosa Council business unit contact will request some of your business and contact details.

1. Following this, you will receive an email invitation to register your details with Eftsure as a new supplier. These details include:

  • Company ABN
  • Company name
  • Company address
  • Company Contact details
  • Company Bank account details
  • GST registration

2. If you choose not to use the online form, you can select to be verified by phone. If you select this option, you will receive a phone call from an Eftsure team member within 24-48 hours where you can provide your information.

3. Once your information has been verified you will receive a confirmation email from Eftsure.

Change of Supplier details

Frequently asked questions

Why does Noosa Council use Eftsure?

Banks do not match Payee Names with Account Numbers in the electronic payment process which can lead to payments not going to the intended party. Eftsure does this matching and verification to ensure payments got to the intended party.

With cyber fraud prevalent globally, it is a serious risk for all businesses, including councils. Threats such as phishing scams or fraudulent changes to payment files can result in significant financial loss. This partnership with Eftsure provides greater assurance as they continuously monitor and verify supplier details, reducing these risks. Once your details are securely stored with Eftsure, it is not a one-time verification, your details will be confirmed for every payment.

How secure is Eftsure?

Data is only used for verification and stored securely in compliance with Australian standards. Security measures are regularly updated to address emerging threats, and Eftsure maintains a Security Incident Response Plan based on ISO/IEC 27035 principles. You may already be verified with Eftsure as they work with many businesses across Australia, including a number of councils.

How can I be sure the email I receive is legitimate?

We will ensure all messaging from Eftsure and Noosa Council is clearly branded. Emails will come from an official email address: noreply_verification@noosa.qld.gov.au and reference Noosa Council. If you are wary of clicking links, go directly to www.eftsure.com and use the reference code from the email.

When you follow the instructions to verify your details on Eftsure’s website you will see your bank account details are partly populated which identifies your company. This comes from the information you originally supplied to your Noosa Council business unit contact.

How can I be sure a call from Eftsure is legitimate?

Expect the Eftsure team to call to validate your account details if you have chosen not to verify your business details through the Eftsure portal. They will identify themselves as part of the Eftsure support team.

If you have any concerns, please call Noosa Shire Council or Eftsure to confirm the email or phone call legitimacy. The details are in the ‘Contacts’ section above.

I have been advised to never click on links in emails so how do I proceed?

If you prefer, simply open a browser and go to the www.eftsure.com site, then click on the Supplier tab at the top and manually enter (or copy and paste) the reference code provided to you in the email.  Note when you enter the reference code take care not to confuse zeros with the letter “O” or two with the letter “Z”.  The reference is case sensitive and has no spaces at the beginning or end.

Why can't I simply tell you my bank details on the phone or email them to you?

Our verification requirement is to have them collated and checked by an independent third party (Eftsure) to ensure your details are accurate and validated and your payments are safe.
