Noosa Council is creating a nature-based, all-abilities destination that will inspire the imagination of children and adults alike.

This iconic destination will encourage more visitors to the hinterland, with the added bonus of creating employment opportunities and helping to boost the local economy.

Noosa Heads

Location: Sunshine Beach Road
Project:

A number of trees on the east bound side of Sunshine Beach Road heading away from Noosa Junction are dead and/or in decline. The trees have been assessed and will be removed.

These works will take approximately one day and will be conducted on 20th November 2019 commencing at 9am.

Location: Pirate Park Playground, Gympie Terrace
Project details:

Pirate Park Playground will be closed for one day while the small shade sails are replaced.

The large sail has been removed for repairs which will take approximately 3 weeks. The large sail is scheduled to be installed again on 8 November 2019

Council contractors will undertake asphalt maintenance work in Venture Drive Noosaville.

To minimise the impact on the community this work will be undertaken betewen the hours of 6pm and 6am.

Speed limit reduction.

Start date: New speed limit signage to be installed Wednesday, October 30.

Location: Weyba Creek Footbridge
Project: Rehabilitation work will soon commence on the Weyba Creek footbridge. Recent inspections have identified the need to replace some timber girders, deck planks, balustrades and fittings.

Location: Eumundi-Noosa Rd
Project:

The Eumundi-Noosa Road bus stop number 301746 will be upgraded to include:

  • a new concrete boarding platform
  • a new bus seat
  • a new bicycle hoop
  • rubbish bin facilities; and
  • signage.

The Queensland Government's Passenger Transport Accessible Infrastructure Program is providing dollar for dollar funding support to Council for these works.

Peregian Beach

Location: Peregian Beach Amenities Construction
Project details: 

Work is set to commence constructing a new public amenities block to replace the existing block adjacent to the surf club building in Peregian.

Durng construction a temporary toilet block will be provided immediately south of the existing block.

Location: Rufous Street - Stage 3
Project overview:

In 2014 Noosa Council purchased the old Peregian Bowls Club site to combine with existing community spaces and create a Rufous Street Community Precinct. Council will progressivley develop the site in stages.

Following on from the success of the first stages, Council received additional funding from the Federal and State Governments to complete Stage 3 of the Rufous Street Masterplan. Work on Stage 3 has commenced with the civil works. The total project value is $5.2m.

Project details:

Work will commence shortly to upgrade the existing water & sewer main infrastructure at the Rufous Street Community House site.

Work required includes construction of a new water main and reinstatement of the disturbed work site.

Location: Lifeguard Tower Boardwalk & Shower Renewal
Project details:

Work on the Peregian Beach Boardwalk, north of the lifeguard tower at Beach Access 57 is continuing with the design now complete.

The replacement boardwalk will reconnect pedestrian and wheelchair access to the lifeguard tower and protect the sand dune and its fragile plant community.

Council's commitment to providing improved community facilities will see the Ben Lexcen Park, Sunrise Beach playground upgraded to a multi-age dynamic interactive platform.

Location: Orealla Crescent Bridge replacement
Project:

Council is currently evaluating tenders from contractors who have submitted their proposals for bridge replacement options and their ideas to minimise disruptions to the local community while construction of a replacement bridge is underway.

The community and motorists will be kept well informed about any changes to traffic conditions.

Ridgewood

Tewantin

   
Location: Hilton Terrace
Project details:

Work on a $3 million upgrade of Hilton Terrace between the Doonella Bridge and Hilton Esplanade will commence shortly. The project is staged with completion by the end of 2019, weather permitting.

The first stage of work will see the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Hilton Terrace and Ernest Street in the second half of 2018.

Motorists are encouraged to allow more travel time and to avoid peak hour travel where possible.
