Location: Botanic Gardens

Noosa Council and seqwater are jointly funding $400,000 for the replacement of the Noosa Botanic Garden Shade House. 

The project will involve the removal of the existing structure, construction of the new shade canopy, installation of new gates and boundary fence and landscaping.

Noosa Heads

Location: Noosa Drive and Noosa Parade

Contractors will soon commence road resurfacing night work in Noosa Heads:

  • Noosa Drive - from Leslie Drive to Hastings Street, and
  • Noosa Parade - from Noosa Drive to Garth Prowd Bridge.

While the roads will remain open, residents are asked to avoid parking on the street.

Noosa North Shore

Location: Noosa North Shore

Council has delayed the project until the end of April 2019. This is to allow further investigation into the essential site improvements.

Location: Gympie Terrace
Project details:

Council staff and contractors will shortly remove and replace two bench seats and two table/seat combinations near the 'Boathouse' on Gympie Terrace (Apex Park).

To protect tree roots and services in the area, hydro-excavation will be used to dig the footings for the new seats. This may be noisy for a short period.

Peregian Beach

Location: Peregian Beach Amenities Construction
Project details: 

Work is set to commence constructing a new public amenities block to replace the existing block adjacent to the surf club building in Peregian.

Durng construction a temporary toilet block will be provided immediately south of the existing block.

Location: Rufous Street - Stage 3
Project overview:

In 2014 Noosa Council purchased the old Peregian Bowls Club site to combine with existing community spaces and create a Rufous Street Community Precinct. Council will progressivley develop the site in stages.

Following on from the success of the first stages, Council received additional funding from the Federal and State Governments to complete Stage 3 of the Rufous Street Masterplan. Work on Stage 3 has commenced with the civil works. The total project value is $5.2m.

Project details:

Work will commence shortly to upgrade the existing water & sewer main infrastructure at the Rufous Street Community House site.

Work required includes construction of a new water main and reinstatement of the disturbed work site.

Sunrise Beach

Location: Ben Lexcen park, Sunrise Beach

Council's commitment to providing improved community facilities will see the Ben Lexcen Park, Sunrise Beach playground upgraded to a multi-age dynamic interactive platform.

Location: Duke Street

Project details:


Work will commence shortly to resurface Duke Street, Sunshine Beach.

Work will be completed overnight on 16 May 2019, weather dependent.

Location: Swan Avenue
Project details:

Work will commence shortly on the creek rehabilitation at Swan Avenue, Sunshine Beach to repair the large scour in the creek adjacent to the roadway.

Access to residents in Swan Avenue will be maintained however, some minor delays may be experienced while trucks manouevre for short periods.

Location: Doonella Bridge
Project details:

Council contractors will shortly undertake survey and settlement monitoring work on Doonella Bridge to inform maintenance activities.

There will be a one-lane closure and motorists are urged to travel via the alternate route, Beckmans Road and Eumundi-Noosa Road.

Start date: 23 September 2019
Duration: One day, conditions permitting
Location: Beckmans Road
Project details:

Contractors will soon undertake road pavement testing and sampling along the complete length of Beckmans Road between Tewantin and Noosaville. The testing is required to further inform pavement design options.

To minimise the impact on the community this work will be undertaken between the hours of 6pm and 6am.

Duration: 5 days
Location: Hilton Terrace
Project details:

Work on a $3 million upgrade of Hilton Terrace between the Doonella Bridge and Hilton Esplanade will commence shortly. The project is staged with completion by the end of 2019, weather permitting.

The first stage of work will see the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Hilton Terrace and Ernest Street in the second half of 2018.

Motorists are encouraged to allow more travel time and to avoid peak hour travel where possible.
