Council has sought assurances from Queensland Health about the decision to base St Kilda AFL team in Noosa.

The relocation of the AFL team in Noosa was a decision solely made by State Government in liaison with AFL Executive.

Council will continue to be guided by the health experts and has received the following statement from Queensland Health:

"Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service Public Health Unit is working with the St Kilda AFL team to manage its quarantine and testing requirements for COVID-19 in line with their COVID Safe Plans.

"The players and team staff must quarantine at the local resort which has no other guests staying there.

"Under the border entry approval granted by the Queensland Chief Health Officer, the players and team staff can leave the resort by bus to train and play games.

"Players and team staff will not be mixing with the general community during the 14-day quarantine period."
