Noosa Shire Council

Economy Economy

Noosa's beauty, weather and enviable lifestyle opportunities make it one of Australia's most desirable places to live, work and visit.

Noosa's economy relies significantly on the tourism, retail and construction sectors. It is home to more than 7000 small and micro businesses, as well as successful entrepreneurs and skilled business people.

Council recently adopted the Noosa Shire Local Economic Plan, developed in consultation with the local community with the aim of broadening Noosa’s economic structure through growth in smart industry sectors that offer high economic value and low environmental impact.

The Noosa, Good for Business e-guide promotes Noosa’s competitive advantages and attempts to leverage Noosa’s enviable lifestyle and reputation as a great place to visit.

A Taste for Noosa is the first in a series of eight industry sector profiles. It promotes rural enterprise, primarily food and beverage, and reinforces the ‘Noosa, Good for Business’ message.
